Athenkosi Cetyana (born 14 January 1997) is an emerging writer, and spokenword artist. He was born and raised in a township called Khayelitsha, Cape Town. He attended high school at Bulumko S.S.S (Grades 8-9), and later went on to complete his high school (and matriculate) at the Centre of Science And Technology [COSAT]. He currently resides in Wynberg where he is currently pursuing a BCom Information Systems degree at the University of Cape Town.
Cetyana’s first online competition entry and poem Pens, Police, Poems was shortlisted as one of the top five winning poems for the Bridging Divides Poetry Competition | Junior Category (2017) by FunDza. In 2018 his short essay, A Familliar Stranger In My House, was shortlisted as one of the top three winning stories for the My Home, My Hood Writing Competition | Senior Category (2018) by FunDza. In 2019, his short essay, A Familiar Stranger In My House, was included in FunDza’s Hero Within and Other Writing anthology which was published by Cover2Cover Books.
